Before & After [#6]

Whereas the previous post showed what „just plain“ EasyHDR can do, this view here of the Painted Canyon of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s North Unit is one where I (had to) kind of „pull all the stops“. Rendering the overexposed picture just through EasyHDR didn’t help (much). So I used ACDSee Ultimate 9 to change exposure value, saturation, and vibrance, and then – after that – still ran it through EasyHDR. I should have saved all of the single steps, though. Maybe I can go thorugh that process again. For today, just the final picture will have to do,

Vorher & Nachher [#6]

Während ich im vorhergehenden Beitrag nur gezeigt habe, was das „ganz einfache“ EasyHDR schon leistet, musste ich bei diesemüeberbelichteten Bild des Painted Canyon in Theodore Roosevelt National Park sozusagen „alle Register ziehen“. Eine Bearbeitung mit EasyHDR alleine hat nicht (viel) geholfen. So habe ich dann auf ACDSee 9 zurückgegriffen und Belichtungswert, Farbsättigung und Brillianz korrigiert und danach das Ergebnis immer noch durch EasyHDR „gejagt“. Im Nachhinein betrachtet hätte ich allerdings wohl besser eigentlich jeden Einzelschritt speichern/dokumentieren sollen. Vielleicht werde ich das in einer erneuten Bearbeitung auch noch tun. Für heute soll/muss eben das Endergebnis reichen.

Rendered with ACDSee Ultimate: exposure value -45 units, saturation +30 units, vibrancy +10 units, plus additional rendering with LDR at default setting.

As with all my renderings, especially of the pictures of the Painted Canyon, I keep wondering if they truly represent what the landcape looks like, but then it isn’t called „Painted Canyon“ for nothing, is it? And when I showed the rendered pictured to my wife and asked her about it, she confirmed that the scenery had indeed been that colourful.

Wie mit allen meinen Bearbeitungen meiner Bilder, und insbesondere dieser hier vom Painted Canyon, frage ich mich ständig, ob sie wirklich genau wiedergeben, wie die Landschaft tatsächlich aussieht. Aber der Painted Canyon wird je schließlich nicht umsonst so genannt. Oder? Und wenn ich meine Frau danach gefragt habe, so hat sie mir bestätigt, dass die Landschaft tatsächlich so bunt ausgesehen hat.
