Fritz Sunning Himself

After all the pictures of the deer I have recently posted here, I think it’s time not to forget our kittes. So, here’s Fritz, sunning himself on top of what we call the „remise“ – storage for deer and bird feed, and the trash can. It’s a favourite spot not only for Fritz but for the other kitties, too:

    1. We’ve had three dogs so far. Buster was what I still call „my best friend“. Unfortunately he disappeared one day and was never seen again. In a way that is worse than when they die, I think. For more than 2 years I was still hoping, against all probablity, that he would be there again, waving his tail in happy recognition, when we drove onto the property. Sally and Chiquita came with us here to Fredericksburg, but then had to be put away. Sally had an internal tumor that had burst, and would have died in a few hours‘ time anyway, and Chiquita was old and paralysed in one of her hind legs.
We still kave 5 cats here. In Karnes City sometimes it was up to 10. We had kind of a „fluctuating‘ cat population there – they came and went. It was kind of a haven for strays, but also a somewhat dangerous place, with coyotes, rattlers and owls around, and a buzy highway just in front.
