This tunnel was one of the two reasons [the other being the Pumpkinvine Creek Trestle Bridge] why I chose that special part of the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia for my ride. More about that day here: RailTrailsRoadTrip 2018 – Day 4 [Bicycling the Silver Comet Trail in Georgia].
Thanks, Amy, for the comment. I have a few more pictures from that side of the tunnel, and I chose this because it shows the rocks on the left as well as the tunnel opening. Two of them are here, plus a video of me riding my bicycle through the tunnel [https://wp.me/p4uPk8-1oU].

Looks very verdant and lovely. And worth the price of admission, just to be able to say „One fine day, as I was riding over the Pumpkinvine Creek Trestle Bridge…“ We don’t have anything around here with a great name like that! 🙂

Quite a name, I agree, like that of the tunnel here, too.

I learned something today. I always thought it was die Tunnel, and now I have found out it’s der Tunnel. Still sounds strange to me, but I looked it up to be sure. Anyway, pretty photo.

As Mark Twain said, „That awful German language.“ 😉 A turnip is feminine [die Ruebe] but a girl is neuter [das Maedchen] – where’s the logic in that?
Jave a great weekend, Anneli,
