Und der Pumpkinvine Creek, ueber den diese Bruecke fuehrt, ist in der Tat ein Bach. Den habe ich aber, der Hoehe wegen, nicht gehoert, und der dichten Vegetation wegen auch nicht gesehen.

Thanks for the compliment, but to tell the truth, Amy, I took this picture with my cellphone and in the sunlight couldn’t see what exactly I was photographing. I tried to get some shade on the screen with my hand and ended up with quite a few photos of my fingers! 😉 I had to discard most of the pictures I took there.
But I agree: this one did indeed turn out well.

Yes, it was a railway bridge. The Silver Comet was a train that ran between New York and Birmingham/AL from 1947 till 1969.

At least you didn’t have to worry about the weight of the train bringing the trestle down, only the wobbling bike that might have thrown you over. 😉
