Just in Time …

… for this week’s [as of April 18] photo challenge #13 on Roland’s [„Royusch Unterwegs„] blog on the subject of „unten“ I remembered some kind of „aerial“ photos of our old place in Karnes City, taken when – in 2010 – I demolished our old barn there. Here’s one, taken from the top of the old barn:

… für Rolands [„Royusch unterwegs„] Foto-Challenge #13 von dieser Woche [18. April] zum Thema „unten“ habe ich mich an alte Fotos – fast so etwas wie Luftaufnahmen – unseres alten Hauses und Grundstücks in Karnes City erinnert, die ich gemacht habe, als ich im Sommer 2010 unsere alte Scheune dort abgerissen habe. Hier ist nun ein Foto, dass ich vom Dach dieser alten Scheune aus aufgenommen habe:

The Old Place from Above the Old Barn

The view is approximately to the north, towards Highway 181, which, however, cannot be seen here. In the front left can be seen the corral with the old cattle trough, on the right about in the middle of the picture a metal shed [which is still standing today], further towards the house then the old garage, which we had had demolished during the renovation of the house because it was slowly but surely falling apart by itself, in front of it – under a tarpaulin – the old Camaro, and behind this garage our old house. The picture shows roughly the part of the property that we still own after selling around two thirds.

Der Blick geht etwa nach Norden, in Richtung auf Highway 181, der aber hier nicht zu sehen ist. Vorne links ist der Korral mit dem alten Viehtrog zu sehen, rechts ungefähr in der Bildmitte ein Metallschuppen [der auch heutzutage immer noch steht], weiter Richtung Haus dann die alte Garage, die wir während der Renovierung des Hauses haben abreißen lassen, weil sie langsam aber sicher von selbst in sich zusammenfiel, davor – unter einer Plane – der alte Camaro, und hinter dieser Garage eben unser altes Haus. Das Bild zeigt so ungefähr den Teil des Grundstücks, den wir auch nach dem Verkauf von etwa zwei Dritteln immer noch haben.
