Portrait eines Alligators
When I was just looking through the pictures I took this year I realized that I haven’t shown any yet from our trip to the coast earlier this year, in March. Well, here’s one I took at the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center:
Bei der Durchsicht meiner Bilder von diesem Jahr ist mir bewusst geworden, dass ich noch gar keine Bilder von unserer Tour an die Küste im März diesen Jahres gezeigt habe. Nun, hier ist eines, das ich im Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center gemacht habe:
Whoa…that’s a whole lotta belts and wallets! 🐊

It’s quite roundish, isn’t it? Maybe Lindas [„shoreacres“] is right when she asks if it might be a female swollen with eggs.

Was there any indication that your gator might have been a female? A couple of our refuges have resident gators that they provide information about. I’ve never seen one with that profile, and wondered if it might be a she-gator, swollen with eggs. I did some casual looking for information, but couldn’t find anything.

I’ve never found any „official“ information about the gator(s) in the wildlife center. I only heard that there had been two big gators and that one disappeared during Harvey. But someone said they had seen young ones. That’s all I know.
