Roland’s Weekly Photo Challenge [2021-02-14]

For this year, besides his once-a-month photo project „Food“, Roland [of the „Royusch Unterwegs“ blog] has started a weekly photo challenge. For this week, the subject is „Time„. My contribution today is a picture of three of Mary’s antique clocks, illustrating the saying „He who has one clock, always has the right time. He who owns more than one, never has.“:

Für dieses Jahr hat Roland [vom Blog „Royusch unterwegs„] neben seinem monatlichen Fotoprojekt zum Thema „Nahrung“ auch eine wöchentliche Fotochallenge ins Leben gerufen. Heute ist das Thema „Zeit„, und mein Beitrag dazu ist ein Bild von dreien von Marys antiken Uhren zur Illustration des Sprichworts, „Wer eine Uhr hat, hat immer die richtige Zeit; wer mehr als eine hat, niemals.„:

Photoproject #8: Vehicles

On „Mannis Fotobude“ Manni has again called for participation in another, the eigtht, photoproject of his. This time the subject is „vehicles of all kinds“. Here’s another contribution of mine. This was our „house number“ when we stayed at the „Grape Creek Cabin“ on one of our very first visits to Fredericksburg. We were told, „Just take a right at the old tractor.“

Auf seinem Blog „Mannis Fotobude““ hat Manni einmal mehr zur Teilnahme an einem weiteren, seinem achten, Fotoprojekt aufgerufen, dieses Mal zum Thema „Fahrzeuge aller Art.“ Hier ist ein weiterer meiner Beiträge. Das war sozusagen unsere „Hausnummer“, als wir bei einem unserer ersten Bescuhe in Fredericksburg in der „Grape Creek Cabin“ gewohnt haben. Man sagte uns, „Biegen sie einfach am alten Traktor nach rechts ab.“

Photoprojekt Panoramabilder – Mai

Auch für Mai hat „Royusch-unterwegs“ wieder zu einem neuen Beitrag für sein Fotoprojekt Panoramabilder aufgerufen. Hier ist nun mein Beitrag, der Hackberry General Store auf der Route 66. Also, „Get Your Kicks on Route 66„, mit meiner Lieblings Country & Western Band, Asleep at the Wheel!  😉

Photoproject Panorama Pictures – Mai

Again „Royusch – unterwegs“ has asked for new contributions to his Photoproject Panorama Pictures. Here’s my contribution, the Hackberry General Store on Route 66. So, „Get Your Kicks on Route 66“ here, with my favourite Country & Western Band, Asleep at the Wheel!

Für dieses Bild wurde das Original mit EasyHDR und Inpaint überarbeitet. Das Original, mit der Kamera meines Samsung S9+ im Panorama-Modus aufgenommen, hat einige Unzulänglichkeiten, wie auf dem Original [siehe unten] deutlich zu sehen. Den dunklen Schatten etwa in der Bildmitte [was auch immer den verursacht haben könnte ist mir ein Rätsel] habe ich mit Inpaint eliminieren können. aber die Figur der jungen Dame in der rechten Bildhälfte ist immer noch doppelt zu sehen, und der junge Mann links von ihr ist ziemlich deutlich verzerrt.

For this picture the original has been worked over with EasyHDR and Inpaint. The original, taken with the camera of my Samsung S9+, definitely has some imperfections, clearly to be seen in the original below. I’ve been able to get rid of the dark shadow in the middle [whatever caused it baffles me] with Inpaint, but that young lady in the right half of the picture still shows up double, and the body of that young guy to the left of her clearly is distorted.

My New Car – Well, Not Actually „New“

Mein Neues Auto – Nun ja, nicht unbedingt „neu“

Today we had our 15th Annual Masonic Open Car Show on the Marktplatz and of course I was there to gaze at the exhibits and to take pictures. And with this car here, I was really surprised at the price. Admittedly I had not the faintest clue as to prices for old-timers, but I still think $18,000 for this 1930 Ford A-Model really is not too much. Actually, when thinking of a new car, we did have something „a little“ different in mind, but … seeing this car I could change my mind:

Heute hatten wir unsere 15. Jährliche Offene Car Show der Freimaurer (Loge) auf dem Marktplatz und natürlich musste ich hingehen und die Ausstellungsstücke bestaunen und fotografieren. Und bei diesem Wagen hier war ich wirklich erstaunt über den Preis. Zugegeben, ich habe nicht die leiseste Ahnung von Preisen für Oldtimer, aber ich glaube dennoch, dass $18.000 für dieses Ford A-Modell aus dem Jahre 1930 wirklich nicht zuviel sind. Wenn wir an einen neuen Wagen denken, dann haben wir zwar etwas „ein klein wenig Anderes“ im Sinn, aber … wenn ich diesen Wagen hier sehe, dann könnte ich mir es doch anders überlegen:
