Klempner im Haus

Recently we had a water leak under the floor in the concrete slab and the plumber advised us to relocate ALL our water pipes into the attic and walls. More about that at some other time in my other Blog, „Pit’s Fritztown News„.

Neulich hatten wir ein Loch in einem Wasserrohr unter dem Fußboden im Betonsockel unseres Hauses und der Klempner hat uns geraten, ALLE Wasserleitungen neu zu verlegen, und zwar in den Dachboden und in die Wände, Mehr darüber in Kürze in meinem anderen Blog, „Pit’s Fritztown News„.

In the early summer of 2004, Mary’s house in Karnes City got a new roof:

Im Frühsommer 2004 hat Marys Haus in Karnes City ein neues Dach bekommen:

If you look closely, you can see that the windows also urgently need to be renewed. But that was a later project.

Man erkennt bei genauem Hinsehen, dass die Fenster auch dringend der Erneuerung bedürfen. Das war dann aber ein späteres Projekt.

By the way, to the left of the house can still be seen the extension which Mary later had to have demolished because it had been rotting after water leaked in through the roof.

Links vom Haus erkennt man übrigens noch den Anbau, den Mary später hat abreißen lassen müssen, weil er nach Wassereinbruch durch’s Dach verrottet war.

Cozy Fire in the Fireplace

It was just two nights ago that we had the A/C on, to cool our bedrooms, but yesterday it was time for a cozy fire in the fireplace in our living-room, and in two more days it will be 85 Fahrenheit again!

Gemütliches Feuer im offenen Kamin

Vor gerade einmal zwei Tagen hatten wir über Nacht die Klimaanlage an, um unsere Schlafzimmer abzukühlen, aber gestern war es Zeit für ein gemütliches Feuer im offenen Kamin im Wohnzimmer, und in nur zwei Tagen soll es dann wieder knapp 30 Grad werden!
