Friday Flashback: Winter 2003/4 – Lake Buchanan

In the winter of 2003/4 Mary took me for the first time to the Highland Lakes, to Lake Buchanan, a reservoir that regulates the Colorado River – the one in Texas, not the better known one in the western United States.

Im Winter 2003/4 hat Mary mich zum ersten Mal mit ins Gebiet der Highland Lakes mitgenommen, zum Lake Buchanan, einem Stausee zur Regulierung des Colorado River – dem in Texas, nicht dem besser bekannten im Westen der USA.

Photoproject #7: Lakes

On „Mannis Fotobude“ Manni has again called for participation in another, the seventh, photoproject of his. This time the subject is „Lakes“. Here’s my particular contribution, which I’d like to call „The Vanishing Lake“, a picture of Lake Buchanan, one of the (Texas) Highland Lakes, at the height of the drought in 2007:

Auf seinem Blog „Mannis Fotobude“ hat Manni einmal mehr zur Teilnahme an einem weiteren, seinem siebten, Fotoprojekt aufgerufen, dieses Mal zum Thema „Seen„. Hier ist meine eigene – zugegeben etwas ungewöhnliche – Interpretation dieses Themas, ein Bild das ich „Der verschwindende See“ nennen möchte, eine Aufnahme vom Lake Buchanan, einem der (Texas) Highland Lakes, auf dem Hoehepunkt der Dürre im Jahr 2007:
