Photo Project „Food“ – February 2021
For February, Roland [of „Royusch Unterwegs“] has again called for contributions to his photo project „Food“. Here’s my contribution now, with a „staple food for Mary„: ice cream – she can eat it at any time of the day and at any time of the year. This picture shows the ice cream counter of our local „Clear River“ cafe:
Der „Petrified Forest National Park ist bekannt für seine Fossilien, insbesondere von umgestürzten Bäumen, die in der späten Trias-Epoche des Mesozoikums vor etwa 225 Millionen Jahren existierten. Während dieser Zeit befand sich die Region, in der sich heute der Park befindet, in der Nähe des Äquators der südwestliche Rand des Superkontinents Pangaea, und das Klima war feucht und subtropisch.“
The „Petrified Forest National Park is known for its fossils, especially of fallen trees that lived in the Late Triassic Epoch of the Mesozoic era, about 225 million years ago. During this period, the region that is now the park was near the equator on the southwestern edge of the supercontinent Pangaea, and its climate was humid and sub-tropical.“
Als ich heute mein Bildarchiv durchstöbert habe, fand ich moch ein Bild, das gut zu Mannis [vom Blog „Mannis Fotobude„] „Fotoprojekt #13: Türen, Fenster und Balkone“ passen würde, ein Bild der neuen Eingangstür, die wir im Oktober 2007 für unser altes Haus in Karnes County angeschafft hatten:

Auf seinem Blog „Mannis Fotobude“ hat Manni einmal mehr zur Teilnahme an einem weiteren, seinem dreizehnten, Fotoprojekt aufgerufen, dieses Mal zum Thema „Türen, Fenster und Balkone„. Bei „Tür“ habe ich, auch wenn das von der Etymologie her nicht korrekt ist, die Assoziation von lateinisch „Porta“, und das wiederum brachte mich zu meinem Beitrag hier, von der „Porta Nigra„, dem „Schwarzen Tor“, in Trier. Und wenn schon einmal „schwarz“, dann wollte ich dieses „Tor“ auch in Schwarz-Weiss zeigen:
Photoproject #13: „Doors, Windows, and Balconies“
On his blog, „Mannis Fotobude“, Manni has again called for participation in another, this time the thirteenth, photoproject of his. Now the subject is „Doors, Windows, and Balconies„. With „door“, German „Tür“, I associate – even if that is not etymologically correct – the Latin „porta“, and that reminded me of the „Porta Nigra„, the „Black Gate“, in Trier/Germany. And then, since it is (called) „black“, why not render it in black & white:

Auch für September hat Roland [Danke, lieber Roland, für Deine Anregungen: es macht Spass!] von „Royusch-unterwegs“ wieder zu einem neuen Beitrag für sein Fotoprojekt „Panoramabilder“ aufgerufen. Hier ist nun mein Beitrag, eine Panorama-Ansicht über eine Teils des Pedernales River State Parks [Texas Hill Country], aufgenommen vom Aussichtspunkt nahe des Parkbüros am Eingang des Parks aus. Da Roland in seinem Beitrag sowohl das unbeschnittene Original als auch das beschnittene Bild gezeigt hat, kam ich auf die Idee, das auch hier zu tun. Die Einzelbilder wurden mit einer Nikon D500 gemacht, und dann mit „Photo Stitcher“ [Einstellung „Warp Spherical“] zusammengesetzt. Das Resultat wurde mit EasyHDR [Einstellung „natural2“] überarbeitet, und dann mit ACDsee Ultimate9 beschnitten und etwas abgedunkelt.
Zum Vergleich habe ich hier zusätzlich noch eine Panorama-Aufnahme hinzugefügt, die ich mit der Panorama-Funktion meines Handys [Samsung S9+] von derselben Stelle auch gemacht habe, ebenfalls mit EasyHDR [Einstellung „enhance3“] bearbeitet.
[Gerade bei diesen Panoramabilder finde ich es (fast) unumgänglich, sie in höherer Auflösung anzusehen. Dazu zuerst auf das Bild hier klicken und dann noch einmal mit der Lupe.]
Photoproject Panorama Pictures – September
For the month of September, too, Roland [Thank you, Roland, for your suggestions: it’s great fun!] of the „Royusch-unterwegs“ blog has again called for a new contribution for his photo project „Panorama Pictures“. Now here is my post, a panoramic view of part of the Pedernales River State Park [Texas Hill Country], taken from the lookout near the park office at the park entrance. Since Roland showed both the uncut original and the cropped image in his contribution, I got the idea to do the same here. The single images were taken with a Nikon D500 and then stitched together with „Photo Stitcher“ [setting „Warp Spherical“]. The result was revised with EasyHDR [setting „natural2“], and then trimmed with ACDsee Ultimate9 and darkened a little.
For comparison, I have also added a panorama shot, which I took from the same location with the panorama function of my mobile phone [Samsung S9 +], also edited with EasyHDR [setting „enhance3“].
[Especially with these panorama pictures I find it (almost) inevitable to view them in higher resolution. To do so, first click on the picture here and then again with the magnifying glass.]

Auch für August hat „Royusch-unterwegs“ wieder zu einem neuen Beitrag für sein Fotoprojekt Panoramabilder aufgerufen. Hier ist nun mein Beitrag, ein Panorama des Llano River, aufgenommen von der Brücke in Llano, Texas aus. Interessant finde ich an dieser Aufnahme, dass die Brücke nur jeweils links und rechts am Bildrand zu sehen ist – eine Tatsache, die mir während der Aufnahme [mit meinem Handy] gar nicht bewusst geworden ist.

Photoproject Panorama Pictures – August
For August, too, „Royusch – unterwegs“ has asked for new contributions to his Photoproject Panorama Pictures. Here’s my contribution, a view of the Llano River, taken from the bridge in LLano/TX. What I really consider interesting in this photo is that fact that the bridge itself can be seen only in the left and right margin of the photo – a fact I had missed entirely when taking this panorama shot with my cell phone.
