Aransas Wildlife Refuge Appetithäppchen

It’s been quite some time that Maren Arndt [of the blog “Maren’s Fotoblog“] visited Texas and together we went on a birding tour in the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, and I have not yet shown any picture here. Well, at least here’s and appetizer:

Es ist nun schon eine ganze Weile her, dass Maren Arndt [vom Blog „Maren’s Fotoblog“] Texas besucht hat und wir zusammen eine Vogelbeobachtungstour im Aransas National Wildlife Refuge gemacht haben, und ich habe hier noch kein einziges Bild gezeigt. Nun, zumindest ist hier ein Appetithäppchen:

More is about to come, but it will take a while because we’ll be on a 4-week tour of Ireland soon.

Es wird noch mehr kommen, aber das wird eine Weile dauern, weil wir bald auf eine 4-wöchige Irlandreise gehen.

This morning I went on a boat tour [with Aransas Bay Birding Charters] to see Whooping Cranes – and other birds – in the Aransas Wildlife Refuge from the sea side, with the sun in the back. We started in the dark before sunrise and this is what it looked like when we were between Goose Island State Park and Matagorda Island and the sun came up:

Heute morgen war ich auf einer Bootstour [mit Aransas Bay Birding Charters], um Schreikraniche – und andere Vögel – im Aransas Wildlife Refuge von der Seeseite aus zu sehen, mit der Sonne im Rücken. Wir sind noch im Dunkeln vor Sonnenaufgang aufgebrochen und so sah es aus, als wir zwischen Goose Island State Park und Matagorda Island waren und die Sonne aufging:

Rockport/Fulton Appetizer

Once again I am lagging behind the current events as I’m still in the process of editing the pictures taken during our stay in Rockport/Fulton on the Texas Gulf Coast from May 16 to 20. As it probably will take a while with my first blog post, here’s an appetizer: a picture of the „Fulton Mansion“ through my lens ball.

Ich hinke einmal mehr ziemlich hinter dem aktuellen Geschehen her und bin immer noch dabei, die Bilder von unserem Aufenthalt vom 16. bis zum 20. Mai in Rockport/Fulton an der texanischen Golfküste zu bearbeiten. Weil es wohl mit meinem ersten Blogbeitrag dazu noch ein wenig dauern wird, hier schon einmal ein Appetithäppchen: ein Bild der „Fulton Mansion“ durch die Glaskugel.

With all that came in between, I’m still sorting and editing the pictures from our visit to Port A. in January, and it might still take a while before I can post anything. So here’s an appetizer: a view across the dunes and onto the sea from the balcony of our condo:

Mit all dem, das dazwischen gekommen ist, bin ich immer noch dabei, die Fotos von unserem Aufenthalt in Port Aransas im Januar zu sichten, zu sortieren und zu bearbeiten, und es mag durchaus noch eine Weile dauern, ehe ich einen Beitrag dazu posten kann. Daher gibt es hier dann schon mal ein Appetithäppchen: einen Blick über die Dünen und auf die See vom Bakon unseres Ferienapartments aus:
