While we were gone on our „RailTrailsRoadTrip“, more fawns were born, and when we came back, we had up to four in our backyard: oh, what a pleasure! In the last few days I was able to catch them on camera, even in a video [to be published in my „Pit’s Fritztown News“ Blog at a later date. Here’s my first picture of a Mama with what looks like twins:
Waehrend wir auf unserem „RailTrailsRoadTrip“ waren, sind weiter Rehkitze geboreb wirden, und als wir zurueckkamen, hatten wir bis zu vier in unserem Garten hinter dem Haus: oh, welche Freude! In den vergangenen Tagen habe ich sie mit der Kamera einfangen koennen, sogar auf einem Video [das kommt demnaechst in mein Blog „Pit’s Fritztown News“]. Hier ist nun ein erstes Foto von einer „Mama“ mit vermutlich Zwillingen:
Maybe his realm is not too big, as there are many others of his kind here in the Texas Hill Country, but he certainly has a regal bearing, hasn’t he?
Or is he just nosy? Or maybe just wary? Anyway: here he is, looking straight at the camera.
It may well be that the old one is the young buck’s father. This is another of the shots I got off yesterday:
Two evenings in a row this truly magnificent buck appeared in our back yard, and tonight I had the camera ready!
Our fawns certainly have grown, and they graze more and more by themselves, although they still like to suckle.

I took this picture about an hour ago. I decided not to work with it at all but to publish it here „just as it came out of the camera“ because I think it really shows what the view of our backyard looked like.
